This essay is an attempt to build up a plausible model of the cognitive processes behind the behavior exhibited by speaker-hearers in a specific discourse situation.The questioner then has a maximum of twenty yes/no questions (a#39;game questions a#39;) - to which the ans werer must reply -in order to guess what the object is. This alternation of questions and answers constitutes the basic structure of the game.
