This monograph is a description of my approach to performing a role in the theatre. It begins by discussing my early work in theatre prior to graduate studies, and progresses through the three years of education and training I received at the University of Louisville. It culminates with a description of my preparation and work for my thesis performance as Pseudolus in the musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. This thesis reports the problems I encountered during rehearsal and performance of the role and the preparation I undertook to avoid potential problems. The final chapter culminates in a description of my current acting process in which I also discuss my future plans for acting and reflect on my experiences while in graduate school.Thus, Sondheima#39;s music is based in a traditional Broadway style.
