The nine models covered by this service manual are powered by four different engine/transmission assemblies. There are also slight differences in the specifications of some models which appeared over the period from 1972, when the Subaru range was first marketed in Australia, to 1975. To simplify the compilation of specifications for all these models and to allow for the variations which have occurred year by year, the four engine/transmission assemblies (EA63A standard 4-speed, EA63A standard automatic, EA63E 4-wheel drive, EA63S sports) have been used as basic headings, with additional notation to indicate changes.
